Walk in Prayer March 1, 2020 10:00AM Gates Pond Berlin MA
Please join us for our first Walk in Prayer event for 2020! We will kick off the 2020 Walk in Prayer season on March 1st by hiking around Gate’s Pond in Berlin. This free, interactive event will help us prepare ourselves for a new year and the Lenten season with prayerfulness, insight, love and a commitment to walk the Way of Christ. This hike is approximately 2.5 miles in distance, mostly flat with somewhat challenging spots along the way, but not difficult. Walkers are encouraged to meet at the parking lot behind the Hudson Library at 12:45am if a ride is desired. Otherwise, we will meet at the parking lot at the entrance to the reservoir hiking trails off Taylor Rd at 1:00PM for opening prayer and blessing . All prayer materials will be provided. Walkers are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather…mittens, hats, warm coats and good grippy footwear that is appropriate for snowy conditions. This event is open to the public and is free of charge. Children and dogs are also welcome! You do not need to be a member of St. Luke’s. We welcome everyone to join us!
St. Luke’s Book Club: The Liturgy of the Ordinary March 28th and April 11th, 11:00 AM
St. Luke’s is delighted to welcome the community to discuss one of our favorite books…The Liturgy of the Ordinary: Sacred Practices in Everyday Life by Tish Harrison Warren. This is a delightful read that connects the everyday, mundane and even frustrating parts of our lives with a greater context of faith and mindfulness. The book discussions will occur in one hour increments followed by a light lunch of soup and sandwiches. Everyone is welcome! The book can be purchased on Amazon, although we recommend visiting a great local bookstore to support small community businesses. Please be sure to let us know you are coming! We look forward to meeting you!
